From Rockstar to Wedding Band and the pay off is...good times!

Celebrate good times. Going from playing to thousands of concert goers in a areans to a hundred folks in a Hotel Ballroom is a pretty big difference but there are many things that helped to make the transition smooth.

The big difference between playing a concert and a cover band for weddings is ...in the words of the Beatles (my musical heroes along with Jimi Hendrix) "All you need is Love" and there is plenty of that at a wedding. There is great food, supportive families meeting and embracing each other for the first time and, of course, some great music to span the tastes and genres to relate to everyone young and old.

It is a totally different experience but there is an arc to every event and it usually is powered by the music and it ALWAYS pays off in bottom line happiness.

Music has the power to bring people together and there is something to be said for "cover" music in that it allows for sing a longs, favorite songs and finishing strong.

I feel very gratified to play music that is energetic with great musicians for appreciative folks in the destination resort of Aspen Colorado. The alternative is to bang your head competing with other great musicians that are younger and far more energized for the attack to try and make it to the concert stage, having to travel in often less than appealing circumstances from town to town from gig to gig to further your crowd base...oh it is plenty exciting when you are 23 years old...but when you are settled and only have to trave to the finest of venues and eat the finest of meals cooked by the worlds top chefs ..minus the pressure of wondering about the outcome. In a wedding the outcome is ALWAYS a good time!
